   <Abstract>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Heavy Rain Detector&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The HRD product aims to identify individual areas (polygons) potentially at risk.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Polygon determination is based on the IDL algorithm called CONTOUR: this algorithm searches for homogeneous areas with respect to a reference parameter and a predefined threshold value.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Currently, the search is based on areas with instantaneous precipitation (SRI) greater than 10 mm/h (threshold parameter).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;To avoid an excessive number of polygons, areas that are too small are excluded (min_area = 20 km2). Furthermore, excessively large areas are filtered out (max_area = 10,000 km2).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The information refers to the maximum value of HRI, SSI, and all features recorded for each area.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</Abstract>
